Rita Callender
Managing Director
Rita Callender is the Managing Director of the Environmental Academy. She has 20 years experience in promoting environmental issues to commerce and industry. During this time Rita also ran Dr David Bellamy's consultancy for 5 years. She has considerable experience in delivering environmental projects and government funded programmes.
Rita has established The Environmental Academy to become a leading provider of environmental training within the UK and overseas.
Rita is also listed in the Journal's Influential 500 list for 2008 and a Judge for the Journal Landmark Awards and the Constructing Excellence Awards. Rita is also a Business Mentor for Durham University Business School and has been shortlisted for the Woman Entrepreneur Award.

Anna-Lisa Kelso MSc, BSc(Hons), AIEMA, Dip RSA
Director of Learning
Anna-Lisa Kelso is the Director of Learning for the Environmental Academy. She oversees the entire delivery of training courses as well as writes the training material provided by the Environmental Academy.
Anna-Lisa has a background as an Environmental Management Systems Consultant. She has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management and also a Master of Science in Environmental Management. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and a professionally trained environmental auditor with LRQA (Lloyds Register Quality Assurance).
Anna-Lisa is also a NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier for NVQ Level 4 in Environmental Management. She is an Accredited Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Trainer. She provides environmental management consultancy and training support to a range of organisations throughout the North East of England and nationally.

Lynn Thompson BSc (Hons), MSc, AIEMA, MIOSH
Senior Environmental Consultant / Project Manager
Lynn Thompson a Senior Environmental Consultant and Project Manager for The Environmental Academy. Her main responsibilities are project managing a range of projects including the Envirowise Team Resource Efficiency Club, Envirowise North East Supply Chain Projects, and the provision of air and water quality sampling at Newcastle Airport.
In addition, Lynn assist in the delivery of a range of other projects providing environmental consultancy support directly to companies, preparing and delivering training workshops, and providing mentoring support to training or project participants.
Lynn has a background as an Environmental Consultant and is a registered tutor with the CIEH and a member of IOSH. She is also an Associate Environmental Auditor with IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment). She also delivers Health & Safety training to a range of organisations throughout the North East of England and nationally.

Michelle Campbell BSc.(Hons), MSc., AIEMA
Senior Environmental Trainer / Consultant
Michelle Campbell is a Senior Environmental Trainer and Consultant for the Environmental Academy. Her role is to deliver environmental training courses for funded and commercial projects. Training experience ranges from large audiences to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Michelle is also an Assessor and an Internal Verifier. In these roles she assesses candidates on a range of evidence and quality check other trainers' delivery of training courses.
Michelle's role as an Environmental Consultant is to implement environmental management systems, aid companies in helping them identify areas where resource efficiency measures can be implemented, and training and awareness of companies' employees.

Helen Watson BSc (Hons)
Accounts Manager for Enviro Excellence
Helen Watson is an Environmental Consultant and Assessor with the Environmental Academy. Her role is to provide research and EMS mentoring services to delegates on NVQs level 3 and 4 Environmental Management. She is also a consultant to a number of EMS clients at the Academy. Helen has a background in Environmental Studies and a Foundation Course in Environmental Auditing, with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

Elizabeth Thorpe BSc (Hons)
Environmental Researcher
Elizabeth Thorpe is an Environmental Researcher for the Environmental Academy. Graduated with Honours from the University of Northumbria reading Geography. Since joining the Environmental Academy at the start of 2008 Elizabeth has been researching and updating key course content and specialises in Waste, Environmental Stewardship and Construction.
